Policies and Procedures
Lets keep Little Friends Play Space a safe and fun environment for everyone!
AGE POLICY
Little Friends Play Space is designed and intended exclusively for children ages 18mos to 5 years old. Activities, equipment, and toys are tailored to their developmental stage. Older children may inadvertently pose a safety risk to younger children due to their size, strength, and different play behaviors. By restricting the play space to children ages 18 months to 5 years old, we can create an environment where all children can enjoy safe, focused and engaging activities without concern about being outpaced or overwhelmed by older children. To maintain a safe and age-appropriate environment, access to the play space is restricted to children within this age range only. No exceptions will be made regardless of circumstances. By entering the play space, parents/guardians acknowledge and agree to adhere to this policy.
BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS AND TERMINATION CLAUSE
Behavioral Expectations- Parents/guardians are expected to ensure that their child exhibits appropriate behavior while attending the play group and/or open play. This includes respecting LFPS rules, following directions, and interacting positively with others.
Misbehavior and Disruption- In the event that a child develops disruptive or unsafe behavior that interferes with the playgroup/open play environment, LFPS staff will make reasonable efforts to address the issue, including speaking with the child, offering guidance, and involving the parents/guardians if necessary.
Right to Terminate- If, despite these efforts, the child continues to exhibit disruptive or unsafe behavior, LFPS reserves the right to terminate the child’s participation in the program. Termination may occur immediately or after reasonable notice, at the sole discretion of LFPS Director or management. No refunds will be issued for remaining sessions after termination due to behavioral issues.
Parent/Guardian Responsibility- The parent/Guardian agrees to take appropriate steps to support LFPS staff in managing their child’s behavioral issues and acknowledges that termination due to misbehavior is final.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE POLICY
Due to the risk of a child having food allergies, and in order to ensure the health and safety of all children attending the play group/open play, parents/guardians are strictly prohibited from entering the facility with food of any kind. This policy is in place to prevent the risk of food contamination and to maintain a clean and safe environment for all children. Any food brought into the facility will be returned to the parent/guardian immediately. You may send your child with a drink in a spill-proof container. Please be mindful that some children have severe food allergies to foods like nuts, nut butters, and fruits. Please wash your child’s hands thoroughly before or upon entering the facility to minimize the risk of transferring life-threatening residue to the equipment. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all attendees.
ILLNESS POLICY
To ensure the health and wellbeing of all children and staff we ask that parents/guardians refrain from bringing children to the play group/open play if they are exhibiting any signs of illness, including but not limited to fever, cough, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, or any contagious condition. Children who are sick or who have been sick within the last 24 hours should remain at home to recover and prevent the spread of illness to others.
If a child develops symptoms while at play group, the parent/guardian will be contacted immediately to arrange for the child’s prompt pick-up. Please do not send your child with any medications as we are not authorized to administer them. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for all children.
