Play Time
Toddlers can enjoy their first hour of play group exploring and playing! There’s lots to do at Little Friends Play Space like sliding, swinging, and climbing on our indoor play structures, bouncing in the bounce house and wading through the ball pit. Imaginations can run wild playing with play kitchens and shopping carts, baby dolls and dump trucks, and building something great with building blocks. They can hop on a tricycle or a scooter and zip by the train table to see what their new friends are up to!
Snack and Story Time
Play group rounds out the bottom of hour 2 with a snack and story time in our cozy reading nook, complete with toddler sized couches and bean bags. We supply the allergen free snack and your toddler can bring their own beverage in a spill-proof container.
Craft Time
Hour 2 starts out with craft time! Each toddler will have the opportunity to color, finger paint, or make a craft related to a weekly learning topic in our “craft area” complete with toddler sized tables and lots of crafting supplies.
Benefits of Play Groups
Socialization:
Toddlers can interact with peers, helping them develop social skills such as sharing, turn taking, and communication.
Emotional Development:
Being in a group setting helps toddlers learn to manage emotions, such as frustration or excitement, in a social context.
Cognitive Growth:
Play groups often provide stimulating activities that promote problem solving, creativity, and early learning in areas like colors, shapes, and numbers.
Physical Development:
Play group activities can improve motor skills, such as running, jumping, or building with blocks, fostering physical coordination.
Parental Support:
Parents and caregivers can connect with each other, offering emotional support, advice, and a sense of community.
Routine and Structure:
Regular attendance at a play group helps toddlers adapt to routines and structured environments, which can ease transitions to school or daycare later on.
Increased Independence:
Toddlers learn to engage in group settings without always needing parental guidance, which promotes confidence and independence.
Overall, play groups offer a balanced environment for learning, socializing, and developing key skills during a toddler’s early years.
